Adoption Procedures

At Passion 4 Paws we spend quality time getting to know our adopters in order to match them with the right pet. We know our animals, so we can help you find the right companion to complement your life-style.

Our goal is to place our animals in homes with an owner who will make a lifelong commitment to them. For that reason we ask that you think carefully about this adoption, and if you are not prepared to make a lifetime commitment to your pet, then please wait until you are ready before adopting.

To be considered as an adopter, you must:

  • Complete an Application to Adopt a Pet
  • Be at least 21 years old with steady employment/income
  • Bring your up-to-date driver’s license or another photo ID at the time of adoption
  • Be willing to have home visit
  • Be willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment, and proper care for your adoptive pet
  • Be willing to sign our adoption contract

Adoption Fees:

Passion 4 Paws does not have "set in stone" adoption fees for adult & senior cats and dogs, because we deal with so may special needs circumstances. Adoption donations rarely cover the full amount of money we pay for the veterinary expenses, but they do help us recover some of the costs associated with caring for the animals.

Some adoption fees may be higher than posted. Thbecause the low-cost clinics we normally use for vetting have either closed or are back-logged, and in order to spay/neuter our animals we may have to use a regular veterinary hospital that may not offer discounted rescue rates. This causes our prices to be much higher. All adoption fees and donations go into our veterinary fund and help off-set the cost of medical care so we can continue our mission to save as many animals as we can.

All of our animals will come spayed/neutered and vaccinated for rabies & distemper (unless they are too young or for medical reasons unable to undergo surgery or vaccination). Cats are tested for Feline Aids (FIV) & Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and dogs are tested for heartworm and tick borne viruses. Some animals will recieve more extensive medical care prior to adoption such as dentals, x-rays, bloodwork, surgery, and even homeopathic care from our homeopathic veterinarian.

Our adoption fee for kittens is $250.00.  Puppies $550.00+

Adult cats (in general): $175.00 - $225.00.  Adult dogs:  $350.00 - $550.00+.

Passion 4 Paws is a volunteer run, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, which means that your donations are 100% tax deductible. Thank you for your support.
