About Us

Passion 4 Paws is a non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue facility, adoption center, and sanctuary.  Our organization is staffed entirely by volunteers, and our efforts are supported through donations and the generosity of animal lovers from within the community.  Our focus is on cat and dog rescue, primarily cats.  We have been known to take in the occasional bird, rabbit, turtle, and yes, even a goose.

Mission Statement

Our Mission is to rescue homeless, abandoned, neglected, or abused cats and dogs. By working with committed volunteers, veterinarians, and trainers, we nurture, provide medical care, and rehabilitation to these animals while providing a safe and loving "cage-free" environment for as long as it takes to find them adoptive homes.

Our Vision

Our vision is to prevent cruelty and suffering to all animals. Through humane education, we aim to increase public awareness regarding the over population of adoptable animals in municipal shelters, and to that end we are firmly committed to:

  • Rescuing cats and dogs from municipal shelters that are in danger of being euthanized
  • Educating the public on the importance of responsible pet ownership, including spaying and neutering of companion animals
  • Supporting Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) programs as a means to control the over population of feral cats

Euthanasia Policy

At Passion 4 Paws we do not euthanize an animal unless it is too ill to enjoy a good quality of life, or we are unable to medically treat the animal successfully. This includes cats with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and/or leukemia.  An example of when we may choose to euthanize an animal would be intolerable pain, end stage disease, or organ failure.  Passion 4 Paws has established close relationships with veterinarians in our community, and we rely heavily on their expertise to help us care for the animals in all matters of their health and well-being, including decisions regarding euthanasia.  When it is determined that euthanasia is in the best interest of the animal, the procedure is performed by a veterinarian following the protocols established by the American Veterinary Association.

Lost Pets

There is no greater pain than losing a pet, so if you have lost or found an animal, please CONTACT US so we can get the word out.  We will post a photo of the animal and their story on our LOST & FOUND page.

Owner Surrendered Animals

Passion 4 Paws generally rescues animals that are in danger of being euthanized in municipal shelters.  However, we do take owner surrendered animals on a case-by-case basis providing space is available. If we are unable to take your animal into our shelter, we still want to help you. Before you make the decision to surrender your pet, please visit our RESOURCES PAGE to see if there is a solution to your problem.  Many times pet owners choose to surrender a pet because they have been unsuccessful at modifying a negative behavior, or they are moving and haven't found a rental property that will accept their pets. If you do not find what you are looking for, please CONTACT US to discuss the next steps.
