It is our policy to encourage responsible pet ownership and spaying/neutering of cats and dogs; to seek to return lost animals to their owners and to find suitable adoptive homes for abandoned, abused and unwanted animals.

We are primarily a NO KILL animal sanctuary. We do not euthanize unless the animal is too ill to enjoy a good quality of life and we are unable to medically treat the animals successfully. This includes FIV or leukemic cats as well. For example: intolerable pain, end stage diseases, organ failure are examples of medically untreatable cases. It is only then that they are mercifully euthanized by a licensed veterinarian through the use of a sedative, and when sleeping soundly, are then injected with sodium pentothal. All animals are euthanized following the protocols of the American Veterinarian Association. The sanctuary prides itself on its close relationship with the veterinary community throughout the animals’ duration at the sanctuary and upon decisions of euthanasia.

We are unable to take owner surrender animals as we strictly take animals from municipal shelters that are in danger of being euthanized. However, we do provide a list of shelters and rescues for CT, MA, and RI that may be able to help. Please click on the link "Do You Need Help".
